PHOTOSHOP DIGITAL IMAGING COURSES
Please book well in advance as places on these workshops are restricted to a limited number, to ensure dedicated tuition. Each participant learns on their own workstation and the course is very much 'hands on'. The tutors for these courses are Simon Watkinson ABIPP (Director), Fran Halsall LBIPP, Mark Wood and Alex Hyde. These courses are suitable for beginner / intermediate levels of ability. We recommend Private Tuition for those seeking instruction in the advanced techniques of Photoshop.
Facilities include 8 workstations, multi-card readers on each machine, flatbed scanners and Canon S9000 printers, Wacom tablets and digital projector facilities. We have Photoshop CS3 and CS4 (where applicable we will point out the difference for those using Elements) on every machine. The facilities, tutor knowledge and coverage is second to none.
It is essential that you have a basic understanding of computing. All computers are fitted with card readers that read six different formats of digital storage cards.
On each Digital Imaging Course, we issue a series of comprehensive worksheets and notes to practice the course content. This focuses the training and ensures optimisation of time. Each guest also recieves a CD of extensive Photoshop notes to take away.

ADOBE LIGHTROOM COURSES
Intrigued about Adobe Lightroom and the huge benefits it offers photographers? We are now offering a 1 day course in Adobe Lightroom; a virtual one stop photography editing package primarily for Raw files. As Raw file editing packages become easier to use more of us are turning to Raw as the "new file format". Understanding how Raw files work can be confusing but understanding how they can benefit you can be even more so!
The highly skilled digital team at the Peak Photo Centre will explain:
* how raw files work in simple terms
* how a Raw file work flow will help you produce stunning results
* how a Raw file work flow can manage thousands of files simply and efficiently.
The team will guide you through the process of importing your images through to final output. We will show you how to back catalogue your existing work, add key words and manage your work with metadata. We will also demystify some of those more complex controls found on Lightrooms interface. Adobe's Lightroom takes you through to the final print stage where you will be shown how to do contact sheets and set-ups for print runs. We will also guide you through the stages of making a custom slide show.
Raw has now come of age and it is time all photographers made the switch. Programs such as Lightroom (once understood) will bring massive benefits to any photographer working in any field. So whether your photography is in portraits or landscapes, architecture or sports or purely indulgence in all subjects, Raw is the way to go.
